Lake Cowichan First Nation is in the process of starting Aboriginal tourism in the form of Canoe Tours, a First Nation’s Café and Gift Shop, and a marina development as establishing long-term leases on their reserve lands. Their traditional territory encompasses the entire Cowichan Lake watershed, including the Indian Reserve, the community core that houses the residential and administration building located on approximately 100 acres between the Youbou Highway and Northshore Road.
