Surrey – National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration
The Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre is hosting a National Indigenous Peoples Day event at Holland Park in Surrey. There will be a variety of fun activities to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day!
Join us in celebrating the unique cultural diversities of Indigenous Communities, through the engagement and inclusion of Local Land Based Nations and local service providers.
A free community barbeque, sponsored by Kwantlen Polytechnic University will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. along with several traditional cultural activities and sharings combined with outreach and engagement from a variety of service providers working with the Urban Indigenous population in Surrey.
The National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration & Wellness event intends to bring Local First Nations as well as First Nations, Metis and Inuit families from around the Lower Mainland together with Surrey’s Urban Indigenous population; to provide an opportunity to share cultural history, celebrations, and allow for intergenerational connections to take shape.
