Aboriginal Journeys is a family owned wildlife viewing and adventure tour company located in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. They operate within the traditional territory of the Laichwiltach (Native) peoples. You can be assured that you are in very knowledgeable and capable hands as the genuine care, comfort, and safety of their guests is always their first mission.

Aboriginal Journeys offer awe-inspiring Grizzly Bear Watching, Orca Killer Whale Watching, Marine Wildlife Viewing and Adventure Tours. One of the most beautiful and breath-taking places found anywhere on Earth. Their locally born Tour Guides have a minimum of 35 years experience working and travelling within the coastal waters of British Columbia.



Grizzly Bear Watching

On this Grizzly Bear Journey, which departs from Campbell River on Vancouver Island, guests will enjoy a scenic 2-hour boat ride on a high-speed, covered vessel to Toba Inlet (Fjord) on the mainland coast in search of Grizzly Bears.
Upon arrival they will be greeted by the Klahoose First Nation Guides. The guides will then escort guests to the washroom facilities in the camp. They will then board a tour van for a short 10-minute drive to specially designed bear viewing platforms and open viewing areas, which are situated along the Klite river. Guests will spend approximately 4-hours on land for this tour. Here they will have the opportunity to witness the behaviours of Grizzly Bears, such as feasting on spawning salmon in Canada’s true wilderness.
In addition, guests will enjoy panoramic views of the magnificent Toba & Klite River Valley’s which is home to these magnificent animals.

Whale / Wildlife Watching & Adventure Journey

On this tour guests depart from Campbell River on Vancouver Island on this Whale/Wildlife Watching and Adventure tour. Be on the look out for Orcas (Killer Whales) and / or Humpback Whales and other marine wildlife such as Dolphins, Black Bears, Porpoises, Eagles, Seals and Sea Lions. Sometimes in the spring Grizzly Bears can also be seen on this tour. Every day is new and exciting adventure.
There are many waterways in which to explore such as Discovery Passage, Johnstone Strait, Desolation Sound and Georgia Strait which has been renamed to Salish Sea.
In addition, we have some of the worlds most powerful ocean currents within our area. Towering mountains and glacial fjords (Bute Inlet and Toba Inlet) with lush rainforests are within our area as well.
