National Indigenous Peoples Day: A Celebration of Culture and Community

Join us on for a family-friendly celebration on National Indigenous Peoples Day—an opportunity to honour the culture, stories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples past and present.

Held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sinixt Confederacy and the Secwépemc, Ktunaxa, and Syilx Okanagan Nations, this event invites all community members to come together in celebration and respect.

Enjoy a self-guided interpretive nature trail, shop handcrafted goods from local Indigenous artisans, and taste fresh bannock and light refreshments. Coffee and cold brew will be provided (please bring your reusable cup). Children and families are encouraged to join the all-day craft table led by Indigenous Educator Marlene Krug. Storytelling and prayer will be shared by Elder Randy Williams.

The day also features two live performances by Francis Baptiste, a Syilx singer-songwriter whose music blends English and Nsyilxcən to share powerful stories of healing, fatherhood, and cultural reclamation.
