Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre
The Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre, operated by the Ktunaxa Nation Council and located at St. Eugene Resort, is where the Ktunaxa people come together to give visitors a taste of their rich heritage, mythology and culture. Located in the Mission building, which was once a former residential school, guests are encouraged to view the many historic belongings, contemporary art, archival photographs and displays containing examples of traditional stone, bead, hide, wood and cloth work. Hear the Ktunaxa Creation Story and learn from Elders about the painful legacy of St. Eugene Mission and residential schools across Canada. Gain understanding of how the Mission was transformed into a resort that benefits the community today and celebrate the everyday life of the Ktunaxa, and the renowned horsemanship and canoe-making of their unique and resourceful people.
