Nitinaht Campground & Cabins

Nitinaht Lake Campground has been proudly operated by the Ditidaht People since 2006. Known for its natural beauty, steady thermal winds, and access to both Nitinaht Lake and the Caycuse River, it is also a gateway to the West Coast Trail. Each year, it fills quickly with kiteboarders, windsurfers, hikers, and nature lovers. Often called Canada’s largest saltwater lake, Nitinaht is actually a 20-km ocean fjord. The 150-hectare site sits near Carmanah Walbran and Pacific Rim National Parks, two of the most intact ancient rainforests in the world. Aside from camping, six new cozy 1-bedroom cabins each with a kitchenette, pull out couch, bathroom with shower, and wrap-around decks with BBQ, and propane fire ring, are available for those who love the great outdoors with indoor comforts.
