Tluu Xaada Naay Society
Tluu Xaada Naay Society is a group of artisans dedicated to the preservation of Haida arts, culture and language through visual arts, performance arts, language and tradition. Tluu Xaada Naay offers immersive cultural experiences so visitors to Northern Haida Gwaii can enjoy Haida art and culture. Visitors can book an appointment for a viewing of the carving shed and longhouse that is home to Tluu Xaada Naay’s cedar canoes and works-in-progress. Built by Morris White in 1985, the Haida Canoe, Totem & Design Carving Shed has provided the workspace for many monumental projects. This is where Masters of totem pole and canoe carving work alongside apprentices and students of Haida art.
