FirstHost Workshop

Length: 1 day

Indigenous hospitality reflects traditional values that honour the relationship between place, host, and guest. Welcoming family, hosting powwow, and celebrating nature are activities that are traditionally performed in a balanced way that honours and preserves land and culture.

The FirstHost Workshop celebrates the cultures and communities of Indigenous peoples and combines these traditional ways with contemporary best practices in customer service. Remarkable and authentic Indigenous tourism experiences rely on exceptional customer service, starting from the moment a visitor sets foot in a community and at every touchpoint that follows. This workshop covers various topics, including hospitality, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Who should attend?

The FirstHost Workshop is a perfect introductory or refresher course in customer service, especially for businesses in the Indigenous tourism sector. If you are a start-up training your first team or are market- or export-ready and need to train new ambassadors or refresh current frontline staff, this one-day session is invaluable.

To schedule the FirstHost Workshop for your business or community, contact [email protected].
