Front Desk Agent
The Front Desk Agent course provides the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a front desk role within the tourism sector, all within 8 hours of learning. The training is based on the National Occupational Standards for Front Desk Agents, developed in collaboration with industry experts to reflect all key aspects of the profession. You will learn about guest services, sales, reservations, arrivals, departures, administrative procedures, financial transactions, security and safety.

Session Details
This is a self-paced, online training that takes about 8 hours to complete. It includes a mix of learning materials, including activities and examples that relate to real-life front desk work. The course follows the National Occupational Standards and is designed in partnership with industry professionals. When you’re done, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion and a digital badge.
Eligibility
Indigenous Tourism BC will cover the full costs of this training for eligible participants:
- Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit, Metis) residing in BC
- Indigenous-owned tourism businesses (51%+ Indigenous ownership), and employees of
- First Nations-owned tourism businesses (51%+ First Nations ownership), and employees of
- First Nations Communities in BC
Prerequisites
This training is open to all. You don’t need any past experience to start.
However, you’ll do well if you’re friendly, organized, and enjoy helping others. Strong communication and attention to detail will help you succeed in this training and in the role.
