Indigenous Ambassador
This valuable workshop helps Indigenous people grow their confidence and skills in tourism and hospitality. As an Indigenous Ambassador, you will learn how to proudly share your culture and history with visitors in a good way.
This training supports you in becoming a strong voice for your community. You will learn through group activities, stories, and helpful tools to welcome visitors, protect your land, and celebrate who you are. By the end, you’ll feel more ready to speak about your culture, answer visitor questions, and represent your Nation with pride.

Who Should Attend?
This training is for Indigenous Peoples who want to grow their skills in tourism and hospitality. Whether you're just getting started or already working in the field, this workshop will support your learning journey.
Session Details
This is a 1-day, in-person workshop that' delivered by-request and hosted by an ITBC team member. It’s interactive, welcoming, and designed for small groups of up to 20 people. You’ll learn in a group setting with activities, discussions, and shared stories.
Eligibility
Indigenous Tourism BC will cover the full costs of this training for eligible participants:
- Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit, Metis) residing in BC
- Indigenous-owned tourism businesses (51%+ Indigenous ownership), and employees of
- First Nations-owned tourism businesses (51%+ First Nations ownership), and employees of
- First Nations Communities in BC
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites. All you need is an open heart and a willingness to learn and share.
