ITBC’s Collaboration Agreements indicate a strong, shared intent for two parties to work together for the mutual goal of advancing a competitive, sustainable, and socially conscious Indigenous tourism industry while contributing to cultural understanding and economic prosperity.

These agreements honour our diversity and differences while recognizing our shared interests and values. They provide a detailed outline of scope, roles and responsibilities and guiding principles for the collaboration.

Collaboration Agreements

Huu-ay-aht First Nations and Indigenous Tourism BC

This Collaboration Agreement was signed by the Huu-ay-aht First Nations (HNF) and Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) to cultivate relationships through greater connection and engagement with Indigenous communities, entrepreneurs, and industry partners and provide training and tools for Indigenous experience and destination development. ITBC and HFN advocate for their Stakeholders and inspire visitors to seek authentic Indigenous tourism experiences that support the growth of strong and resilient Indigenous economies in the Barkley Sound region on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Nisga’a Lisims Government, Northern British Columbia Tourism Association and Indigenous Tourism BC

Nisga’a Lisims Government, Northern BC Tourism Association and Indigenous Tourism BC signed this collaboration agreement that outlines initiatives to support the development of Indigenous tourism experiences in the Nass Valley and the four Nisga’a Villages – Gingolx, Laxgalts’ap, Gitwinksihlkw and Gitlaxt’aamkis. The agreement also recognizes and aligns with the Nisga’a Nation’s shared interests and values. This Collaboration Agreement shows a high level of trust between the participating communities and a dedication to genuine strategic partnership building for the mutual benefit of all parties.
