The Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) is hiring for Manager, First Nations Partnerships.
GVHA is a not-for-profit organization that manages many of the iconic waterfront spaces around Victoria. Since its inception in 2002, GVHA has served as a steward of harbour lands once managed by the Government of Canada. GVHA ensures these spaces remain safe, clean, vibrant, accessible, economically sustainable, and respectful of the unceded territories of the lək ̓ʷəŋən People, known today as the xʷsépsəm (Kosapsum) Nation and Songhees Nation. Part of our commitment is to advance our First Nations relationships through meaningful and ongoing collaboration and create a vibrant and harmonious harbour for all.
We are seeking a Manager, First Nations Partnerships to work alongside the xʷsepsəm Nation and Songhees Nation in advancing shared priorities within a complex, working harbour. Grounded in trust, reciprocity, and respect, this role supports joint priorities, collaborative planning, and pathways toward co-management — advancing key initiatives and ensuring that Nation perspectives and priorities are meaningfully integrated into GVHA’s operational and long-term planning. This role is designed for someone who brings lived experience, cultural understanding, or long-standing professional practice working alongside First Nations communities.
This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage (premiums paid by GVHA), RRSP matching, annual bonus eligibility, professional development funding, a health spending accounts, paid vacation, additional paid and non-paid leave, including up to five days per year of unpaid cultural leave for Indigenous employees. Recruiting annual salary range is $85,000 to $95,000.
