The Okanagan Select tasting room is located in the traditional territory of the Westbank First Nation. The storefront offers tastings of a large selection of sustainably harvested Wild Smoked Salmon, including quality Indigenous brands like Okanagan Select, River Select, and Stellako Select – all of which can tasted year round.
Located next to historic downtown West Kelowna on the unceded Syilx Territory of Westbank First Nation, the shop also boasts a selection of sustainably-caught Coastal seafood caught by artisanal Indigenous fishers. If you are a tourist in BC looking to learn more about Sockeye, or if you are a local Salmon lover, we encourage you to make the tasting room a part of your Okanagan food experience!
The beliefs and traditions of the fishermen at Okanagan Select are a very important part of the First Nations’ culture, and reflect a deep understanding and respect for nature. Okanagan Select honours their roots by using holistic traditional practices of selective fishing and processing methodology handed down from the community’s ancestors. Their goal is to provide a high quality product from sustainable fisheries, ensuring the stability of future salmon populations. By utilizing abundance-based selection, the fish are able to fulfill their biological cycle, from migration to spawning.
You will have an opportunity to sample some of the locally caught Okanagan Sockeye and Smoked Salmon Treats:

The tasting room is open Monday to Friday 9am-4pm.
The Tasting Bar usually wraps up 15 minutes before closing time.
Groups of 8 people or more should book 24 hours in advance.
