Tse’k’wa, which means “Rock House” in Dane-zaa/Beaver language, has been a place for the Dane-zaa people to meet, share, rest, and celebrate for over 12,000 years. This site is the result of a unique collaboration between three Dane-ẕaa Nations: Doig River First Nation, Prophet River First Nation, and West Moberly First Nations. Through combined Indigenous knowledge and western science, Tse’k’wa connects the past, present, and future. Go on an exciting journey of shared history that builds respect for the land’s First Peoples. From walking the trail to learning about wild plants in our healing garden, there are many ways to connect with the land and learn about the Dane-zaa and their vibrant culture. Admission to Tse’k’wa is free but donations are always welcome. The site is open for self-guided tours year-round with staff hours varying.

Port Hardy’s Nax’id’ Pub is located on the traditional lands of the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw and is owned and operated by the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw First Nations. For Chef Keenawaii Roberta Olson, food is more than nourishment, it’s a cultural experience rich with symbolism and stories. Canoe Cultures is an Indigenous lead organization, dedicated to the art and culture of the canoe, and the artists who create them, all events and programs take place on the traditional homeland of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh(Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) people. In addition to an artist collective, focused on passing on the art of canoe carving, this organization offers canoe tours that launch from the Concord Pacific Community Park. The Qualicum First Nation Waterfront Campground, Cabins and RV Park is centrally located a short 14 minute drive from Qualicum Beach on beautiful Vancouver Island, offering a great camping experience with beach access for all our campers. on the eastern side of Vancouver Island, bordered by the temperate waters of the Strait of Georgia, the campground is divided by the Big Qualicum River providing two distinct camping areas: North Campground and South Campground. Basic camp sites are available, as well as serviced and non-serviced waterfront recreational vehicle sites, and cabins.
