The Qualicum First Nation Waterfront Campground, Cabins and RV Park is centrally located a short 14 minute drive from Qualicum Beach on beautiful Vancouver Island, offering a great camping experience with beach access for all our campers. on the eastern side of Vancouver Island, bordered by the temperate waters of the Strait of Georgia, the campground is divided by the Big Qualicum River providing two distinct camping areas: North Campground and South Campground. Basic camp sites are available, as well as serviced and non-serviced waterfront recreational vehicle sites, and cabins. Nitinaht Lake Campground has been proudly operated by the Ditidaht People since 2006. The McAbee Fossil Fields, operated by the Bonaparte First Nation, provide visitors with a unique and educational experience. This Eocene fossil bed was officially designated a Provincial Heritage Site under British Columbia’s Heritage Conservation Act on July 19, 2012. This expansive fossil field contains diverse plant, insect, and fish fossils. 

The trail entrance, identified by a teepee, is located on Highway 97 between Kamloops and Cache Creek and offers stunning views of the surrounding Shield Mountains and Thompson River. The total loop of the trail spans 8 kilometres, with approximately 1.5 kilometres of easy-to-access trails, making it a manageable day trip for students and their teachers. Along the way, you’ll encounter informative trail signs that provide insights into the original village sites and the rich history of the Bonaparte First Nation.
